Hi, I am Kalyani, a part time corporate junkie  and a part time traveler. So far, I have traveled to 17 countries and 26 Indian states along with my full time job. Along with travelling ,I enjoy writing about philosophy, self awareness and dabble in amateur poetry.

Part-time travelling is definitely not just a vacation, it is a way of life! I travel to maximize experiences, to break barriers and stereotypes in my head, to forge new friendships and renew existing ones ,to explore places, people and cultures different from ours and to eventually realize that were all actually the same, to appreciate what we already have and to discover the simple joys of life. I travel to get back to the boring desk job with renewed vigor knowing that the world out there is far bigger than the little world inside the cubicles and to not to let petty issues bring me down. I travel to experience in practice what I’ve read or heard in theory. In a nutshell, I travel part time to live many lives in my short lifetime.

Welcome to my blog, Lokyana. Coined from 2 Sanskrit words, “Lokya” which means bestowing freedom and “Yana” meaning journeys, Lokyana literally translates into journeys which bestow freedom. Though this platform, I wish to share the stories of discovery and freedom through our travels. I strongly advocate and encourage Indian women to travel more, solo or in groups and believe travelling is the best way to open up our senses ,connect with the world and learn life lessons. Lokyana is an attempt to share the transient journeys we undertake, both physical and spiritual, to lead a life full of possibilities . Happy reading !
